WAKE FOREST FIRE DEPARTMENT PURCHASES NEW LADDER TOWER™ 105’ TRACTOR DRAWN AERIAL (TDA)
BRANDON, SD – September 1, 2021 – Spartan Emergency Response®, a subsidiary of REV Group®, and a leading manufacturer of fire apparatus is pleased to announce the Wake Forest (NC) Fire Department has taken delivery of a new Ladder Tower 105’ Tractor Drawn Aerial (TDA). The truck was sold by Spartan’s authorized dealer, Atlantic Coast Fire Trucks.
This is Wake Forest’s first TDA, which will accommodate the area’s continuous growth and be able to maneuver in tight and narrow streets. The Ladder Tower 105’ TDA is built on a Spartan Gladiator® chassis with the Spartan Advanced Protection System® (APS). The compact design of the ladder optimizes tiller driver visibility, making it more efficient and safer in tight quarters.
Other key features of the Ladder Tower 105’ TDA include:
- Short wheelbase trailer for tight urban streets
- A 500 lb. dry/ 250 lb. wet ladder tip load
- 2 H-style outriggers with narrow 14’ spread
- 300 feet of ground ladder storage
- Waterous 1500 gpm pump
- Generous compartment space
After months of research, the department’s service committee recommended the TDA as the best fit for the city due to the aerial’s jackknife capability, service capabilities and its great maneuverability among confined streets. The apparatus committee selected Spartan Emergency Response and worked with Atlantic Coast Fire Trucks to customize the aerial to its specific needs.
